alternative medicine
Conclusion:
Bioethics presentations are really great because when you get to choose your own topic to report on, you often end up reporting on a topic that you're very passionate about, and so it is both more interesting to you and to the people you are presenting to.
However, alternative medicine is not something I ever felt exceptionally passionate about, or at least I didn't think I did. We had trouble deciding on a topic for our presentations and ended up choosing this one just because, although as we were researching it I felt very interested and intrigued by the subject, and I really enjoyed getting into the nuances of it. I especially enjoyed class discussions on the subject (and discussions on everyone else's subjects), they got pretty in-depth, and discussing has always been really enjoyable for me.
Reflection:
My group - Cate Guempel and Jessica Walters - worked exceptionally well together. There were no arguments and each of us did our assigned jobs to completion. We all learned the subject, or at least the aspects that we chose to study, very thoroughly, and I don't believe there was a question or idea that we left unanswered. Our presentation was well-managed and well-rehearsed, we all spoke well too. All in all, I couldn't be happier with the project.
